Frequently Asked Questions
WHAT IS CBD?
Cannabidiol (CBD) is a naturally occuring compound in agricultural hemp and its relatives. Recognized for its many benefits, it's involved in numerous biological processes and has been proven remarkably safe for both humans and animals.
WHAT DOES CBD DO?
In 1992, researchers discovered the existence of the Endocannabidiol System (ECS) in the human body. In the years since, the ECS has been linked to some of the most important natural functions for establishing and maintaining health. Endocannabinoids and their receptors are found throughout the body. In each tissue, cannabinoids perform different tasks, but the goal is always the same: homeostasis, maintaining a stable internal environment despite external environmental fluctuations.
IS CBD LEGAL?
In 2014, the federal government passed section 7606 (aka the "Farm Bill"). This law allows the cultivation and use of any and all parts of Cannabis sativa L. (Agricultural Hemp) as long as THC concentrations do not exceed 0.3% on dry weight basis in accordance with the national institute of food and agriculture guidelines.
Because not all states laws reflect the federal guidelines, however, CBD products are not available in all areas.
ARE HEMP AND MARIJUANA THE SAME?
Yes and no. While both plants are technically Cannabis, they are cultivated and treated differently. In marijuana, different varieties are grown with an intent to increase the THC (the psychoactive compound that gives off the "high") and is generally used for recreational purposes. Hemp, on the other hand, has been grown to minimize the THC content (less than 0.3%) and is used in dietary supplements, skin products and for medical purposes.
CAN YOU TELL ME ABOUT THE HEMP USED IN UGLI BUTTER?
We take pride in knowing exactly what we are putting into each and every product we make and our hemp is no different. As an Oregon company, we're in the fortunate position of being able to source all of our ingredients from the prime Pacific Northwest growing zone which produces the world's highest rated hemp products..
CAN YOU TELL ME ABOUT YOUR CBD EXTRACTION METHOD?
We insist on a whole plant extraction process that ensures that we get the best from our plants. Every ingredient we put into our UGLI BUTTER CBD creams are plant based and specifically chosen to help maximize how our products work. Our philosophy, with all of our products is no shortcuts, no isolates, no artificial ingredients and, most importantly, NO-JUNK.
WHAT MAKES HEMP SO SPECIAL?
For thousands of years, humans have been using plants for benefits from medicine to clothing. With hundreds of individual compounds contained in hemp, these incredible plants, couple with our whole food extraction process, create clean, safe, and effective products.
WHY IS IT CALL UGLI BUTTER?
UGLI is an industry acronym for Unstable-Gel Liquid Instability. For maximum effectiveness, we do not put artificial stabilizers in our products and our carrier oil is coconut oil, which turns liquid at 76 degrees. While this method can create some issues in liquid/solid consistency, it truly is the only way to maximize bioavailability of the nutritional components.
WHY DAY AND NIGHT?
One of the main benefits of hemp is its ability to help the body relax and reduce cellular tension while not impairing how we function.
UGLI BUTTER (night) is a safe, relaxing night cream designed to improve the quality of sleep while helping you wake up refreshed, feeling better and ready to tackle the day.
UGLI BUTTER (day) takes the edge off of pain, stress and anxiety. The perfect counterpart to our night cream, it allows the body to function in a more relaxed and energy efficient state.
Thank you for your patience in these trying times.
To this point, we have been able to meet all orders and expect to be able to continue to do so. However, the potential remains for slowdowns all along the supply chain and, particularly with the run we are experiencing on our Total Body Wellness product, expect deliveries to take longer than usual.
Stay Well. Stay Strong. Again, thank you for your patience and understanding.
