Hello! Merrilyn, owner of Naturulz here.
I hope everyone has had a fantastic week!
This newsletter is dedicated to all things Mom.
Happy Mother’s Day!
This will be the 111th Mother’s Day in the U.S. since President Wilson officially proclaimed it in 1914. If you are new to celebrating or just want a refresher, check out this article for some history on Mother’s Day.
Most everyone has a favorite meal from their childhood that Mom used to make. Mine was Porcupine Meatballs—probably because they actually looked like little porcupines! I found this version online that’s pretty close to her recipe, and we used it for this Tuesday’s group lunch. It sure brought back some memories.
Every Mother’s Day I’m reminded by my two sons, Patrick and Sean—both of whom work with me here at Naturulz—how great a mom I was (not to toot my own horn!). But I always like to think of how amazing all moms are, not just in our culture but across nature. Check out this article about some great animal mothers:

Did you know “Mum” is actually an invented word, made up by babies to say “mother”? Babies often make “ma” or “mama” sounds, which is how “Mum” and “Mom” came to be.
As a salute to my mom, I’m sharing her favorite product we make: Ugli Tea Calm Mint.
Check out these ingredients:
Basil, a member of the mint family, offers more than just flavor—it’s a potent herb with strong anti-inflammatory properties.
Lemon balm helps reduce stress and ease anxiety, promoting better sleep. It also soothes digestive issues like gas and bloating.
Ashwagandha is a powerful adaptogen that helps reduce stress, fight fatigue, and support longevity.
Rhodiola improves mood, enhances focus, and boosts overall well-being. It’s another fantastic adaptogen to keep you sharp and resilient.
